Our Mission

The mission of LyteSpeed Learning is to provide California insurance professionals with the most current, most relevant, and most effective state-approved education available — delivered flexibly, online, to anyone with an internet connection. Every course we offer is built around one outcome: students who understand the material, pass their exams, and meet their compliance requirements without unnecessary difficulty or confusion.

That mission hasn’t changed since 1995. What has changed is delivery. For decades, LyteSpeed operated in-person insurance education courses throughout California — in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Sacramento, Fresno, San Jose, Long Beach, Oakland, and beyond. Agents from across the state traveled to our Southern California location to complete their coursework, and our curriculum built a reputation that made LyteSpeed a destination rather than simply a convenient option.

Today, our courses are available entirely online — on demand, self-paced, and accessible from anywhere with an internet connection. The instructional quality and curriculum depth that defined our in-person programs carried directly into the online format.

Our CDI Approval and Standing

LyteSpeed Learning operates as California Department of Insurance approved provider CDI #65579. That designation confirms that our courses meet the content and delivery standards the CDI requires for pre-licensing education, continuing education, and specialized training — and that our course completions are reported electronically to the CDI on behalf of every student within the required reporting window.

Agents who complete a LyteSpeed course do not need to self-report to the CDI. We handle that submission automatically, and students receive a certificate for their own records.

Our curriculum is revised on an ongoing basis to reflect changes in California insurance law and CDI regulations. When state law changes, our courses change with it. Students completing a LyteSpeed course learn current law — not a curriculum version that hasn’t been updated since the prior regulatory cycle. The significant changes introduced by Assembly Bill 943, effective January 1, 2026, are fully incorporated into our current pre-licensing course materials.

Who Leads Our Courses

LyteSpeed’s courses are led by Mick Strickler, an industry veteran with over 40 years of experience teaching insurance pre-licensing and continuing education to agents throughout California. Over the course of his career, Mick has guided tens of thousands of California insurance professionals through the licensing process — from first-time license candidates to experienced agents adding new lines of authority.

The courses Mick leads reflect the practical, applied understanding that comes from that depth of experience. The goal in every course is not memorization for the exam — it’s genuine comprehension of the California Insurance Code, ethical standards, and product knowledge that makes an agent effective from the day they’re licensed.

LyteSpeed’s broader team includes insurance professionals with direct agency experience. Before founding LyteSpeed Learning, our leadership owned and operated their own successful insurance agencies in California.
