California Pre-Licensing Courses for Life, Accident, Health or Sickness Insurance
Different insurance products require different licenses. In California, in order to obtain a license, you are required to complete what’s known as “pre-licensing courses,” which are classes that teach some of the rules and regulations about different insurance products, as well as complete an exam specific to those products.

About The Combination of Life, Accident, Health, and Sickness
Different insurance products require different licenses. In the state of California, two of the most common licenses are the Life Only license (the license to sell life insurance), and what is now known as the “Accident, Health or Sickness Agent” license. Many agents choose to specialize in just one or the other, but other agents prefer to offer all the products within both categories.
